Pancrete
Q & A
Q: Do I need to disassemble my unit and remove the pan before using Pancrete?
A: No. Thats one of the features of Pancrete in saving manpower. You will need to prepare the pan by wire brushing off loose rust etc.
Q: Both alkaline and acid coil cleaners are very corrosive to drain pan metals, and coatings as well. How does Pancrete stand up to these strong industrial chemicals? Will it last?
A: Pancrete is engineered to have no effect from chemicals, even concentrated coil cleaners normally agressive to metals.
Q: I've read that the EPA recommends against stagnant water in drain pans. How does this occur and can Pancrete help this concern?
A: Most pans are not level, and water may build up in parts of the pan. Pans may also have hills and valleys in them where water can stagnate and not drain properly. Pancrete after mixing has a water-like consistency, and will self level the complete pan, eliminating areas of stagnant water.
Q: How long will my unit be out of service when I use Pancrete?
A: Pan preparation is the most time-consuming part of the process. You'll wet-vac the unit, and wire brush loose and flaking metal, then apply Pancrete. Once Pancrete is poured, you can put the unit back in tservice in as little as 4 hours depending upon temperatures.
Q: Is Pancrete going to be cost-effective?
A: Very much so. It is not uncommon on larger air handlers to save as much as 85% of the cost of a new pan replacement.
Q: How long will Pancrete last?
A: A Pancrete pan will not rust or wear out. It is chemically resistant to coil cleaners, provides a permanently smooth surface, and should outlive your euipment.
Q: Can Pancrete be used on older pans with foam insulated bottoms?
A: Yes.
Q: Is any special equipment required to apply Pancrete?
A: No. Users should use standard safety equipment such as goggles and gloves when using Pancrete as well as local ventilation.
Q: Can Pancrete be used in other areas besides drain pans?
A: Yes. Pancrete has been used successfully in coating concrete floors, and other system metals that are subject to corrosion.
Q: How long can I store Pancrete before having to use it?
A: Pancrete has been stored and used as long as two years after the manufacturing date.
Q: What container sizes is Pancrete available in?
A: Pancrete is available in pint, quart, gallon, 2-gallon and 5-gallon containers. Pancrete cannot be partially mixed due to specialized ratios, so only complete containers may be used. The user should determine what size containers he needs for the job at hand. Our customer service department can provide easy assistance.
